I remember a while ago, a student saying – have you watched the piano on channel 4? TV not being my favourite sport I replied: “no?” so I did watch a couple of episodes and it was indeed very much fun to watch and see how much talent there is out there, specially the performer who won the show last year. I am sure everybody was impressed by her talent and the way she was channeling the music of Chopin as she is completely blind. Her performance was amazing and very inspirational to piano lovers and students. It is also great to see Lang Lang reactions to some of the players and the way a very accomplish pianist gives feedback to amateur performances. All in all this program keeps the piano flame alive for people to keep their interest in playing and or listening to piano music. I find this to be a great initiative.
