Hello everyone,
This post is to review and recommend Paul Harris’s Improve your sight-reading Grade 1 by Faber Music. Teaching piano for many years I have realised that students find it difficult to follow structure. Improve your sight-reading by Paul Harris Grade 1 has 9 stages that you can use to progress smoothly and also tackle rhythm at the same time. You gradually start from very simple exercises to more complex patterns and key signatures. It is also important to note that this book is also of better use if you are using it along your piano lessons as sometimes you may not understand everything that needs to be done in each exercise as this is a practical book and will not have theory explained. In each stage you also have a Going Solo section where you have to apply dynamic changes and experience articulations as well as learning new symbology.
I think it is is a very good book to have the structure you need to improve your sight-reading – you can get this book next day on amazon https://amzn.to/34sa9kt
Have fun learning the piano and improving your sight-reading.
